Note #2: If you have a Macintosh with MacOS 7.1.2 - 7.5, you may have an older version of Open Transport (1.06-1.08). The latest version as of this writing is 1.1.2. If your version is older than 1.1, you must restart your mac each time you dial in to CSD, and your mac may crash randomly. To fix this, download and install open transport 1.1.2 from our FTP server: ftp://ftp.csd.net/mac/OT1.1.2.sea.hqx
1. If necessary, use the network software selector in your Apple extras folder to select Open Transport rather than Classic Networking.
(Advanced users: If you have resedit, you can see that the network software selector simply hides the two control panels that aren't active. If your system crashes while trying to initialize a PPP connection, we suggest that you 'unhide' and delete the old MacTCP and Network control panels.)
2. Open the TCP/IP Control Panel.
3. Under the Edit pulldown menu, set Usermode to Administration.
4. Click on info to check version, it should be atleast version 1.1. If not, download the newest version from our FTP server.
Optional: Select Options if you want to set a password so that other users cannot modify the TCP/IP settings. Be sure to lock the fields.
5. Set Connect Via to: FreePPP.
6. Set Configure to: Using PPP Server.
Put the following entries into the Nameserver section:
204.181.152.51
204.181.152.140
Put csd.net into the "Search domains" section. If you have an older version of Open Transport, you will need to add csd.net to both the "Starting domain name" and "Ending domain name" fields.
Your Open Transport TCP/IP is now configured! If you haven't setup FreePPP yet, see:
