After you have physically connected your Actiontec to your computer as shown on the previous page, you can access the Setup screen by using the Actiontec Installation Buddy CD that comes with your Actiontec.

Alternately, you can access the Setup by opening your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) and going to the following address: http://192.168.0.1 (This may be necessary if you are on a Macintosh)

Step 1. The first “Actiontec Installation Buddy” window appears. Read the instructions onscreen, check PPPoA, then click Next.

Step 2. In the next window, type in your User ID and Password. Click Next.

Step 3. In the next window, select Dynamic IP [DHCP], then click Next.

Step 4. (see note below) In the next window, type in the IP Address, Subnet, Gateway, DNS 1, and DNS 2 addresses in their respective text boxes. Depending on your connection, you may not have to type an address in every text box.

Please Note: You may or may not see this screen, depending on what version of the the Actiontec Installation Buddy you received. In that case, you may skip this step..

The last window appears. Click Finish to exit the Installation Buddy.

Your Actiontec will reboot itself.
After it completes this process, you will be on the internet!
note: on some computers, if you are not able to access the internet at this point, it is necessary to reboot the computer as well.
