CSD Internet Hardware Infrastructure
Located in Boulder, CO. USA, CSD Internet's internal network is comprised of multiple Hewlett-Packard computers, several running VMS and several running Tru64 Unix, with an extensive array of peripherals. All critical equipment including air conditioning has full redundancy (hot spares) - other equipment have spares on-site. Our switched FDDI primary web server is capable of supporting 100+ terrabytes (1,000 Gbyte each) in disk space with four separate CPUs on one of the most stable and reliable platforms available for web hosting today. Our existing customers (some of which have been using our services since the 1970s) won't tolerate anything less than 100% reliable service, and that's what we're offering to the Internet community today.

Internet Connections
CSD's network backbone connections are currently delivered by two SONET fibers (OC3 and OC12) carrying dedicated DS3s, with secondary backbone backup via multiple T1s to Sprint via a SONET fiber from Qwest. Current services include multiple T1's and T3's, with dedicated line service traversing the state. Our two independent direct connections to the Internet backbone are managed by a Cisco 7576 series router with over four gigabit per second of switching capacity. 32 gb/sec internal network LAN is switched Gigabit Ethernet and switched FDDI. With clients composed of both state and federal agencies, along with private industry (approximately 60% non-governmental), CSD presents a very stable foundation for growth in the Internet sector.

Excelling in database operations, CSD is able to provide specialized services to the Internet community on true multi-user platforms. Currently active are databases comprised of hundreds of millions of records, yet CPU utilization (measurement of capacity) typically runs at less than 30%. CSD internet first went online in 1993 offering Internet service to its existing client base, and is now offering these services commercially.
